WA Department of the Attorney General
Law Reform Commission (LRC) Review of Provisional Damages and Damages for Gratuitous Services
Details
Description
The Commission has received a reference from the Attorney General asking it to enquire into compensation regimes for persons suffering from asbestos related diseases with particular regard to the areas of modifying the 'once and for all' rule - 'provisional' damages and damages for the value of services provided by the plaintiff to others.
The Law Reform Commission is seeking an appropriately qualified and experienced provider to produce a Discussion Paper and a Final Report which will examine all the issues laid out in the terms of reference provided by the Attorney General and, ultimately, make recommendations arising from those terms of reference.
The successful Respondent will also be required to coordinate and undertake community and stakeholder consultation for the purpose of producing the Discussion Paper and the Final Report.
