QEII - K Block Fire Occupant Warning System (OWS) Replacement / Upgrade

t was reported that in K Block, during monthly testing and during a fire alarm Fire OWS had issues which caused an evacuation. The OWS intercom only works in the new tunnel area and there are no speakers through the rest of the building, which means occupants are not notified when testing is been done (which has caused staff to evacuate). Upon Investigating it is recommended to upgrade the Fire OWS as it is not monitored due to original configuration. Scope of works K Block complete OWS Replacement / Upgrade • Install Full Speaker OWS system to all floors • Install horns to sub-basement and horns / strobes to plant rooms • Install Speakers for complete building wide compliance • Install OWS amps and increase battery size • All speakers will be surface mount style
