Description
The Attorney-General’s Department Crime Prevention Unit, is offering a $100,000 domestic violence prevention grant program to be shared between up to four projects. Funded projects will undertake action-research based crime prevention work assisting children or young people to overcome the effects of their experiences of domestic violence, and potentially contribute to the prevention of domestic violence through this targeted intervention. The needs of children and young people affected by domestic violence in their families are increasingly well documented. The lack of specifically targeted interventions and services to assist children and young people to overcome these effects and to reduce the possibility that they may reproduce domestic violence in their own relationships is also recognised. These projects will identify gaps in knowledge, develop interventions and evaluate secondary prevention initiatives. Project outcomes will contribute to future policy and service development.
