Provision of Vehicle Inspection Services

Pre-registration inspections of used motor vehicles and trailers with a GVM or GTM over 4.5 tonne; Scheduled bus inspections (6 or 12 monthly); Vehicle defect notice clearance inspections for vehicles requiring a brake test; Scheduled taxi, luxury hire car, restricted hire car inspections (6 or 12 monthly); Scheduled hire and drive inspections (12 monthly); Light and heavy vehicles (single or fleet vehicles) otherwise called in for inspection by the Department; and Type approval inspections. The Department of State Growth is seeking Expressions of Interest from businesses who want to undertake the following types of inspections: Owners or operators of the above vehicles will make an appointment with an appropriate AIS to have their periodic or scheduled inspection. Payment of inspection fees will be made direct to the AIS undertaking the inspection. Attachments E-O of the REOI are available on disc from the contact officer.
