The Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) is a Victorian State Government Department vested with the protection of most areas of public land in the State of Victoria, Australia from damage by bushfire.The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is responsible for the protection from fire of most areas of private land in rural .

The State has a requirement for organisations to provide the services of a number of suitably equipped and crewed helicopters to support fire suppression and other natural resource management operations.

The services are required during the summer fire season, approximately November to April for three years.There will be some ad hoc requirements outside this period. The services will be required to operate in all areas of , and occasionally in other Australian states and territories.

Modern and well maintained aircraft are sought that are crewed, supported and managed by highly professional, skilled and motivated organisations. Aircraft being offered should be turbine powered.

The services will be managed by the State Aircraft Unit on behalf of DSE and CFA.

Tenders, completed in accordance with instructions in the Request for Tender package, must be placed in a sealed envelope, clearly marked Tender 310224 – “Supply of Type 3 Helicopter Services”, and be lodged in the Tender Box, .Posted proposals must be received in sufficient time to be placed in the Tender Box by the closing time.

When arranging lodgement of tenders be aware that DSE does not issue receipts.

Tenders close 2.00pm, Thursday 15^th April 2010.
