Description
The Public Transport Authority’s Environment Branch is seeking the services of a full time environmental specialist to assist the Environmental Manager in discharging PTA’s environmental obligations. The position is available while another staff member is on maternity leave and will be offered for an initial period of 9 months, with the possibility of extension. The successful tenderer will be required to work on average 40 hours per week.
The Environment Branch is responsible for:
- Providing advice on compliance with environmental legislation
- Managing environmental approvals processes
- Reviewing PTA project proposals, environmental risk assessments and management plans
- Managing PTA’s contaminated sites
- Asbestos management
- Management of PTA land for conservation purposes including undertaking revegetation and monitoring activities
- Responding to environmental complaints such as from noise or dust
- Liaison with environmental regulatory authorities
