Network Delivery Projects - Earthing and Bonding Project Engineer

The Network Delivery Branch of the PTA is seeking to engage an Earthing and Bonding Project Engineer to review design and construction documents and provide technical input during the design and construction stages of the Low Voltage Critical Supply (LVCS) Project. In addition, the PTA may require an Earthing and Bonding Project Engineer for the Nowergup Depot Railcar Modification Shed (NDRMS) Project. The Panel Member/Contractor is requested to make allowances for options to provide an Earthing and Bonding Project Engineer for the NDRMS project which may be executed during the project if the need arises. The Low Voltage (LV) supply system provides primary and secondary power to the signalling, train control, traction power and communications systems across the metropolitan rail network. The LVCS Project aims to rectify or renew LV equipment and update asset documentation at various sites to ensure that stable electricity supplies are delivered to rail systems. The scope of the current phase of the Project is to design and construct upgrades to electrical power supplies in Standalone Equipment Rooms (SERs) at Gosnells, Perth Yard West, East Perth, Leederville, Bassendean, Woodbridge and Daglish. The PTA intends to engage Contractor/s to design and construct SERs at Gosnells and Perth Yard West (for which design documentation has been previously prepared). The PTA will also engage Contractor/s to undertake the detailed design of SERs and electrical supply upgrades for the remaining sites at East Perth, Leederville, Bassendean, Woodbridge and Daglish prior to proceeding with construction. The timing of reviews and technical input that the Earthing and Bonding Project Engineer will be requested to provide will depend on the design and construction programs of PTA?s Contractor/s. It is anticipated that the LVCS Project will continue for the next three years. The Panel Member/Contractor will be required to provide Electrical Engineering (Earthing and Bonding) personnel to act as Project Engineer (PE) for the projects listed above. The Earthing and Bonding Project Engineer will review design and construction documents and provide technical input during the design and construction stages to ensure assets comply with Australian and PTA Standards, including the PTA Engineering Management for Projects (EM4P) Procedure and Project Requirements Specifications.
