Description
This EOI has been developed in order to ascertain the interest in, and canvass the range of possibilities relating to the delivery of a Blood-borne Virus Education and Prevention Service for ex-Prisoners and Partners and Families of Prisoners and ex-Prisoners. Output Deliverables will include but may not be limited to the following:
• Development of linkages and collaborative projects with relevant agencies to enhance the delivery of services to partners and families of prisoners and ex-prisoners; and ex-prisoners who were/are at risk of and/or who have tested positive to a blood-borne virus and related diseases whilst incarcerated.
• Development and/or distribution of education and training resources with regard to blood-borne viruses and related issues as appropriate for the partners and families of prisoners and ex-prisoners; and ex-prisoners.
• Delivery of a blood-borne virus and related topics education and training program to others working with partners and families of prisoners.
• Provision of a holistic support service for partners and families of prisoners and ex-prisoners, and ex-prisoners who may be infected with a blood-borne virus or related disease and/or who use drugs illicitly.
• Provision of a referral, advocacy, support and transport service for the partners and families of prisoners and ex-prisoners; and ex-prisoners; on issues related to blood-borne viruses and related diseases and a referral service with regard to illicit drug use including the support of clients with regard to accessing drug and/or disease treatment services; referral to other services including but not only, employment and training, accommodation and community support programs as is required.
The period of service provision will be between 1st October 2009 and 30th June 2012.
