Policy Support and Secretariat Services to Australia's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)

The required policy support and secretariat services ensure Australia’s three ABAC members are supported, in effect, by an ABAC Australia Secretariat. Through the Secretariat, Australia’s ABAC members can receive policy, administrative, and business outreach support and are kept informed of discussions and views presented by other ABAC member economies. The Secretariat can also liaise between Australia’s ABAC members, the Department and other ABAC member economies, such as when conveying the views of Australia’s ABAC members on position papers and working group/committee proposals, and ABAC reports. Members of Australia’s ABAC Secretariat attend all ABAC meetings (or as otherwise directed).
