The Department of National Parks, Recreation, Sport & Racing acting through Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) is inviting offers from experienced and appropriately licenced Principal Contractor for the replacement of existing toilet blocks on Moreton Island at two (2) sites – Comboyuro Point and Blue Lagoon. The Principle Contractor must be a Registered Builder and hold a Builders QBSA licence and possess the appropriate licence class for construction of the toilet blocks.
QPWS propose to engage a Principle Contractor to deliver the following services:
- The supply of design, certified construction drawings, and specifications;
- The demolition of two (2) existing toilet buildings including associated concrete slabs and plumbing, and removal of materials from the island;
- The construction of four (4) new toilet buildings;
- The decommissioning of existing septic tanks, including the removal of four (4) underground concrete septic tanks and associated plumbing from the Island;
- The coordination of the installation of sixteen (16) Gough Hybrid pedestals, four (4) Gough Hybrid effluent treatment systems, and two (2) Advanced Enviro-Septic (AES) treatment systems in total;
- The construction of hardwood paling fencing at each site for fencing off the effluent service area;
- The construction of required retaining walls; and
- The construction of reinforced concrete access paths at each site
The department invites Offerors to attend a site visit at Moreton Island on 10 February 2014. Site visits must be organised with the contact officer Jody Sowerby no later than 2:00pm 7 February 2014 and confirmed in writing their intention to attend a site visit by this time
