Description
WA Bike Month (WABM) and the Annual Activation Program (AAP) represent a unique suite of events, initiatives, communications and marketing campaigns within the Department of Transport’s active transport programs.
DoT requires the services of a Contractor to communicate and promote the WABM and AAP programs as a suite of initiatives and events each year from 2025-2029 to achieve the following objectives:
Overall Program Objectives
- Encourage riders of all ages and abilities to go for a bike ride for transport, fun and for a healthier lifestyle.
- Increase awareness and use of new and existing bike infrastructure, the cycle network, and local facilities you can get to by bike.
WABM -Specific Objectives
- Grow the level of involvement in WABM activities from local councils, workplaces, schools, organisations, government agencies and bike groups.
- Increase attendance and participation at WABM events.
- Position WABM as the promotional pinnacle for whole network activation.
AAP-Specific Objectives
- Activate the path network through community events that encourage bike riding and active travel.
- Provide engaging opportunities for the community to build capacity and increase their active travel frequency.
