11339-TRACK Track Reconstruction, Cluden Park Racecourse, Townsville

The Townsville Turf Club (TTC) is the largest thoroughbred racing club in north Queensland, and conducts approximately 40 race meetings per year. Cluden Park Racecourse is home to the well-known Townsville Cup which began as a small thoroughbred race meeting in 1884 to bring city and country together and has grown to become one of the biggest events in North Queensland, attracting a large number of visitors from across Australia.

The current course proper has a circumference of 1700 metres with a straight of 330 metres. Races are run over distances between 1000metres and 2100metres.

This Tender is for the Contractors works being the new course proper construction, storm water upgrades and other associated infrastructure at the Cluden Park Racecourse.

*A site inspection will be held; 10am Wednesday, 17^th December, 2014, at the Townsville Turf Club. A full set of tender documentation will be available at this meeting and electronically next week.

Racing Queensland is seeking suitably qualified sports turf and/or racecourse contractors for the track reconstruction at Cluden Park Racecourse to commence January 2015.
