Provision of Sector Wellbeing Intervention Program comprising Stress Prevention and Management and Employee Assistance Program

Description
Approximately 16,000 emergency services personnel (including CFS,SES and Volunteer Marine Rescue volunteers) and their immediate families are entitled to access the Sector Wellbeing Intervention Program (SWIP). This Program provides:
- integrated workplace health promotion and preventative services;
- information to new volunteers and career staff at induction and other forums;
- education to Peer Supports;
- early intervention to reduce the escalation of volunteer and staff problems;
- opportunities for volunteers and career staff to seek professional advice of their own volition before psychological illness develops and/or work performance declines;
- Managers and officers with a strategy to deal with lowered work performance, arising from distress;
- professional, specialised counselling services;
- SAFECOM agencies with information to better manage stress related work issues, affecting volunteers and staff;
- support to injured works on rehabilitation and compensation programs.
