INVITATION TO REGISTER INTEREST (ITR)
Registrations of Interest are invited from suitably qualified organisations to undertake the role of HEAD CONTRACTOR for Package 6 of the RAAF Base Amberley Redevelopment Stage 3 project at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland.
Package 6 of the redevelopment involves construction of new works to augment existing passive defence of the Base and demolitions of existing buildings & infrastructure including:
• construction of additional perimeter fencing and security;
• construction of three new gate houses;
• construction of new roads and car parking;
• installation of new electronic security systems hardware;
• demolition of existing buildings; and
• demolition and remediation of the existing Fuel Farm 1.
The anticipated cost of Package 6 is in the order of $26-29 million (excluding GST).
Request for Tender documentations anticipated to be released in February 2009 with construction of the Works commencing in early-mid 2009. Construction of the Works under this package is expected to be complete by late 2009.
The Invitation to Register Interest document (ITR document) will be available from Monday 24 November 2008.

Registrations close at 12.00 noon AEDST on 22 January 2009. Registrations must be submitted and lodged in accordance with the requirements of clause 3.1(a) of the ITR document.
Tenders will be invited from a short list of entities selected on the basis described in the Invitation to Register Interest document.
The National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry and the Australian Government Implementation Guidelines for the National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry, reissued June 2006, apply to this project.
The Australian Government Building and Construction OHS Accreditation Scheme authorised by the Building and Construction Industry Improvement Act 2005 (Cth) and the Building and Construction Industry Improvement (Accreditation Scheme) Regulations 2005 (Cth) applies to this contract.
