Description

The Defence Materiel Organisation, through the Hydrographic Systems Program Office, is seeking submissions from suitably experienced and capable organisations to register for the tender to provide In-Service Support to two Leeuwin Class Hydrographic Ships, four Paluma Class Survey Motor Launches and associated support systems. Hydrographic Ships are 71.2m in length and displace 2550 tonnes and are powered by four 810kw Ruston Diesels, driving two 1000kw variable speed electric propulsion motors. Survey Motor Launches are steel-hulled catamarans, with an aluminium superstructure, 36.6 m in length and displace 325 tonnes. The vessels are powered by two Detroit 760 kW diesels driving twin shafts. The Commonwealth proposes to enter into a minimum five year, performance based Contract. The Contract will deliver comprehensive management of maintenance, engineering, supply and training services. Services will be required at both the ship?s homeport of Cairns, and in remote locations. An Industry Briefing will be conducted at HMAS Cairns commencing at 10.00 am on Friday 11 August 2006. Conditions of nomination for the Industry Briefing are contained within the Invitation to Register Interest (ITR). The ITR will identify parties with the necessary capability and experience to deliver the contractual requirements. A Request For Tender is expected to be issued to those parties short-listed through the ITR process.
