OUTCOME
To enable growers to make timely and efficient nitrogen decisions in the Albany and Esperance port zones by having a rule of thumb around the cost/benefit of feeding N to crops on waterlogged soils.
OUTPUTS
1. Strip trials
• By early March 2018, 6 sites will be located throughout the Albany and Esperance port zones (3 in each port zone) on areas that are prone to waterlogging, that can be used to conduct nitrogen test strips
• During the growing season, establishment and tiller counts; Zadoks score, plant biomass; tissue tests will be measured and carried out. Yield and grain quality measurements to be recorded at harvest
2.Annual Report
• Annual Trials results will be submitted to the GRDC Western region manager, and the RCSN Co-ordinator no later than February 28th, 2019
3. Final Report
• A final report (using the correct final reporting format) is to be submitted by February 28th, 2020
