Alligator Creek Walking Track Upgrade

AwardedRequest for Tender

Details

Awarded

Description

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services (QPWS) on behalf of the Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing (NPSR) is seeking offers from suitably qualified contractor/s to upgrade and repair a 2.0km section of the Alligator Creek walking track, between Alligator Creek Lookout and Cockatoo Creek, to maintain the accessibility and to ensure safety standards comply with a Class 4 walking track.
Alligator Creek is located approximately 25kms south of Townsville.
The existing track was hand-built many years ago and included many man-made rock steps to overcome the steep gradient. Over time, ineffective and/or blocked drains have allowed large volumes of water to run along the track surface and scour much of the natural track material. Parts of the track are down to bedrock with no consistent trail surface, some ineffective stone steps and little opportunity to properly drain water run-off from the hillside.
This project also has an optional site visit, refer to Section 3.6, Request for Quote document for further details
