Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service a divsion of the Department of Environment and Science, require the services of an experience contractor to replace the boardwalk decking, toe rail, joists and damaged bearers at the Champagne Pools at Middle Rocks, K’gari (Fraser Island).
Champagne Pools is one of the iconic sites on K’gari (Fraser Island). The boardwalk provides access to the pools which is the main attraction in this location. The boardwalk requires urgent repairs to ensure the safety of visitors to this site. About 40% of visitors to K’gari visit the Champagne Pools at Middle Rocks.
Commencement of works is anticipated to be 31 January 2019 with practical completion by 29 March 2019
