Laurel Development and Support Agreement

Manages data of training activity for the State of Tasmania as reported by registered training organisations (RTOs). This activity is reported according to a national standard. Staff use Laurel for consolidating the training activity files and submitting the data to the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) four times a year. This allows us to meet Tasmania’s national reporting obligations as agreed by Ministers. Holds details of purchasing contracts Skills Tasmania has with RTOs who deliver government subsidised training. Staff use Laurel for calculating appropriate payments to these RTOs based on the activity they have reported and the details contained in their purchasing contracts. Laurel has an interface with Finance One which allows Laurel to electronically advise State Growth’s finance team about payments that need to be made to RTOs. The Department requires a contractor to provide development and support for a software program (Laurel) used by Skills Tasmania for two overarching purposes: Holds details of purchasing contracts Skills Tasmania has with RTOs who deliver government subsidised training.
