Description

Contribute to the scoping and development of designs for the North Final Stage construction zones, to ensure a final scope and price which meets the Principal's requirements. Construction of these developed designs, subject to meeting Principal's Requirements. The scope of the Midland Highway 10 Year Upgrade Project is to upgrade the Midland Highway to a minimum AusRAP 3-star safety rating. This is to be achieved by widening the existing Midland Highway through the provision of alternating lengths of '2+1' and '1+1' lane arrangements, safe turning facilities and wide sealed shoulders. The Early Contractor Involvement model has been identified as offering the best outcome for the project objectives due to the early input into the design by the successful contractor. The scope of the Project is twofold: The works include road widening, pavement repairs or overlays, upgrades to roadside drainage, sealing, line marking and provision of road furniture such as flexible safety barrier and signage. Coordination with service authorities will be required, and some service relocation may be required. Other features include fencing of new boundaries following land acquisition and minor accommodation works for affected landowners.
