Description
This EOI has been developed in order to ascertain the interest in, and canvass the range of possibilities relating to the delivery of an Enhanced Secondary Needle and Syringe Program in or near to Port Hedland.
Output Deliverables will include but may not be limited to the following:
1. Provision of a brief intervention and referral service to people who inject drugs on issues such as blood borne virus transmission, alternative routes of drug administration, safe disposal of equipment, overdose, safer injecting and other relevant topics.
2. Development and distribution of educational and/or information resources on relevant issues to people who inject drugs.
3. Provision of sterile needles and syringes to people who inject drugs as required.
The period of service provision will be between 1st October 2009 and 30th June 2012.
