Australian Government Department of Defence
P0006 National Airfield Maintenance Works
Details
Description
The pavement work at RAAF Base Tindal comprises an asphalt overlay to the majority of the Base’s northern eastern taxiways (to the north east of Taxiway A), and the taxiway leading to the engine run-up facility. Concrete pavement reconstruction works will also be undertaken on the air movements apron, as well as the replacement of concrete joint seals on the 75 Squadron maintenance apron.
The AGL work covers the full replacement of AGL systems at RAAF Base Tindal with the exception of those serving Runway 14/32, Taxiway A and their interconnecting taxiways. The scope includes replacement of the aerodrome beacon, emergency runway lighting, taxiway lighting and movement area guidance signs. Existing circuits, supplying AGL facilities not replaced as part of the Contractor's Activities will also be augmented.
A new airfield lighting equipment room (ALER) and associated AGL control system will be constructed to replace the existing ALER centre. This includes the construction of the ALER building, and installation of a new local emergency generator, fuel storage, offload facility, and associated services.
Existing AGL systems, and the existing ALER centre, made redundant by the Works will also be decommissioned and removed or demolished.
