QLD Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning
Comprehensive Hydrologic Assessment as part of the Brisbane River Catchment Flood Study
Details
Description
The department is seeking Offers to undertake a comprehensive hydrologic assessment as part of the Brisbane River Catchment Flood Study (BRCFS). The purpose of the BRCFS is to provide an up-to-date, consistent, robust and agreed set of methodologies (including hydrologic and hydraulic models) and flood estimation for the Brisbane River catchment and is being undertaken as the Queensland Government’s response to the Recommendation 2.2 of the Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry (QFCI) Final Report (http://floodcommission.qld.gov.au/publications/final-report/).
It is anticipated that the BRCFS would provide much of the technical data/information/knowledge about flood flow behaviour and characteristics across various sections of the entire Brisbane River catchment, and flood levels in lower Brisbane River and tributaries, upon which the associated Brisbane River Floodplain Management Study (BRFMS) and the Brisbane River Floodplain Management Plan (BRFMP) would be subsequently prepared.
