Cancer Australia
Genomic Cancer Clinical Trial Initiative
Details
Description
Cancer Australia requires an organisation or collaboration to provide the technical services of a Genomic Cancer Clinical Trial Initiative (GCCTI) from 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2016.
The successful tenderer will be required to provide technical services related to the development of mutation-specific cancer clinical trials protocols for the existing National Cancer Cooperative Trials Groups (CTGs)
supported by Cancer Australia. A minimum of one cancer clinical trial protocol per annum will be developed in consultation with CTGs and key stakeholders, to the point of completion and submission of a competitive grant
application by CTGs.
In achieving this requirement the technical services provided will include, but may not be limited to:
• Developing an engagement strategy to involve CTGs and other relevant stakeholders in the scoping and development of mutation-specific cancer clinical trials protocols;
• Conducting workshops with all CTGs and key stakeholders to identify potential targets for the development of mutation-specific cancer clinical trial protocols;
• Developing and writing mutation-specific cancer clinical trials protocols (including literature reviews, reviews of international mutation-specific cancer clinical trials protocols, peer review of protocols,
statistical design, sample size calculations);
• Writing grant applications for funding of trials (including preparation of budgets).
Quality of Life and Health-/Pharmaco-economic measures will be included, where applicable, in the protocols developed, and these elements will be developed by the Cancer Australia Chair in Quality of Life and
the Health Economics Service in collaboration with the GCCTI.
For the provision of the technical services mentioned above, tenderers should state how they would envisage performing the work required. This should include details of how the work would be structured, and the
processes and timelines involved.
Please note that funding will not be provided for the conduct and analysis of the mutation-specific cancer clinical trials. It is expected that funds for these activities will be obtained through alternate grant/funding schemes.
The successful tenderer will actively engage all CTGs and relevant stakeholders in the development of mutation-specific cancer clinical trial protocols. Cancer Australia will be engaged in identifying relevant stakeholders.
Tenders may be from a single organisation or a consortium.
A Tender submitted by a consortium will only be considered if:
a. it will identify a lead agency to enter into a contractual relationship;
b. the Tender clearly specifies the details of all members of the consortium; and
c. a single point of contact for the consortium is specified.
