Tourism Australia
Provision of International Virtual Private Network (IVPN) and Internet Access
Details
Description
Tourism Australia (TA) seeks solutions from service providers and, except in the case of the Customer Access Network (CAN), expresses the need for provision of MPLS (multi protocol layer switching) services to support the technology used in the International Virtual Private Network (IVPN), i.e. the WAN has to be MPLS.
The service provider will have responsibility for the project management, including project planning, design and implementation phases of the project.
Each TA office is currently connected to an international fully meshed IVPN and to the Internet through 4 hubs located in Sydney, London, Los Angeles and Hong Kong. TA also utilise regional rerouting of Internet access whereby if one of the hubs goes down Internet traffic is rerouted to one of the three remaining hubs. The IVPN provides connectivity between overseas offices and servers (including MS Exchange) located at TA’s Head Office in Sydney.
The existing environment has been successful and reliable and Tourism Australia now seeks tenders from service providers to propose solutions to replace the existing network with an alternative solution that will improve performance, provide additional redundancy and enhance TA’s global network capabilities. This encompasses the appropriate servicing of at least three (3) classes of service: voice, video and data.
As part of this requirement TA seeks excellent service, innovative solutions and a strong commitment to provide optimum results.
