PRO2716 - ELIZABETH QUAY BUS PORT (HYDRANT SYSTEM UPGRADE)
BACKGROUND
Programmed Facility Management on behalf of the Public Transport Authority are seeking tenders from suitably experienced and qualified organisations for the Hydrant System Upgrade at the Elizabeth Quay Busport.
SCOPE OF WORKS
The work included shall include, but are not limited to the requirements outlined in this Sub-clause.
The works required include the detailed design, drawings, documentation, obtaining of design approvals, procurement, delivery to site, on and off-site storage, installation, making good, testing, commissioning and 12 months warranty and service of a new fire hydrant system.
Whilst the drawings provide sizes for expansion loops, information on brackets, anchor point locations and other related to the pipe installation, the Contractor is responsible for the provision of engineering calculations and the selection of bracketing and pipe support materials that meet the intent of the specification.
The required Scope of Works is not limited to the brief description below. This Specification, the contract drawings, referenced legislation, Australian Standards and Legislation and any requirements noted under the works Contract shall form part of the Scope of Works.
As a minimum the following items are to be included.
Liaison with the Water Corporation, DFES, the City of Perth and other authorities as necessary for the provision of a new DN150 fire main to the site and for any other requirements related to the construction being carried out1.
Payment of all necessary costs, fees and charges for the provision of the new DN150 main.
The provision of plans, valves, valve pits, traffic control, trenching, backfilling and making good for the provision of the new DN150 main.
Management and day to day supervision of the project.
Provision of all labour required using personnel experienced in the functions and duties for which they are employed.
Allowance for all works to be carried out, outside of normal working hours.
Detailed design and submission of design documents for approval.
Modification of existing pipe and removal of equipment.
Provision of a new fire brigade booster.
New above ground and below ground pipe and interconnections.
The provision of trace tape and trace wire for below ground services.
Pipe supports, hangars, brackets, anchor blocks, management of expansion and contraction of pipe due to ambient temperature changes and internal pressure and similar to ensure the integrity of the pipe network.
The required fire resistance level (FRL) of the pipe support system to meet AS2419 Part 1 for unsprinklered buildings.
New hydrants and valves.
All required valves, labeling, fixings, fittings, miscellaneous materials and making good of surfaces.
Provision of monitored valves to enable signals to the local fire indicator panel to be connected (connection and cabling by others).
On site commissioning.
Site cleanup daily and on completion.
Maintenance of site cleanliness.
Liaison with site personnel.
Attendance at site inductions for all site personnel.
The provision of appropriate PPE for all site personnel.
Management of safety on site and in design.
Painting and finishing of all supplied pipe and fittings.
As constructed drawings, operator training, operation and maintenance manuals.
12 months warranty from practical completion and maintenance during the warranty period.
Traffic Management / Pedestrian Management.
Working at height equipment.
Any other temporary services and facilities required by the Contractor to complete the works that are not expressly stated in the RFT as being supplied by the Client.
To allow for all required contractor interfaces as other contractors are likely to also be working at the Bus Station during the same period as the Contractor.
The aspects above are further described in the pertinent scope of works embedded in the pertinent specification submitted with this Request for Tender and as shown on the relevant drawings.
