Blue Creek Bridge Replacement - Kandanga Creek Road

Tenders are invited from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the replacement of the existing timber bridge with a reinforced concrete bridge on Kandanga Creek Road over Blue Creek in Kandanga, Queensland.

The works generally include:

• Environmental Management, including (but not limited to) protection of existing possums, weed management and other items as identified in the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP).
• Traffic management.
• Telstra service under proposed side-track route to be relocated by Telstra at Council’s cost.
• Contractor to liaise with Superintendent and Telstra to facilitate the relocation.
• Telstra will relocate the service to a temporary position at commencement of the project
• Contractor to supply and install Telstra conduit through new bridge.
• Telstra will move the service to permanent location through the conduit in the bridge (prior to Practical Completion)
• Construction of temporary side-track, and removal at completion of works.
• Demolition of existing timber bridge, stockpiling of good materials for Council collection, and disposal of remainder.
• Minor earthworks, including removal of old manmade fill over creek batters, to suit new wider bridge abutments.
• Construction of a new prestressed concrete bridge with cast-in-situ concrete deck as the wearing surface (complete).
• There are two precast plank options

1. Alternative 1: 1200mm Quickcell planks with cast-in-situ deck slab.
2. Alternative 2:1200mm Hollowcore planks with cast-in-situ deck slab.

• Tender submissions based on either option shall be considered a conforming tender.
• Re-alignment, widening and sealing of the bitumen approaches.
• Installation of road signage, wire rope barriers, concrete cut-off walls (CW1) to protect pavement during flood overtopping, and guide posts.
• Scour protection and soil stabilisation measures including riprap, subsoil drainage, planting, turfing and hydromulching.
• Removal and disposal of all waste material from the site and finishing the works to a high standard.

The closing date for Tenders is 2.00 pm, Thursday, 4 January, 2018. Late Tenders will not be considered.
