Goulburn-Murray Water
Yarrawonga Spillway Structures Access Upgrade
Details
Description
Yarrawonga Weir is situated on the Murray River between the towns of Yarrawonga, Victoria, and Mulwala in New South Wales. The water impounded by the Yarrawonga Weir forms Lake Mulwala.
There are two weir structures (North and South Structures) and each has an overhead gangway that houses the machinery used to operate the weir gates. Access is provided to both overhead gangways by a series of lead-based coated steel ladders and landings that are attached to the concrete structures at the southern end of the two gangways.
The intent of the scope of work is to replace the two existing lead based coated steel ladders and landings with a design compliant with AS1657 and AS4100. The new design shall enable personnel access within the overhead gangway without the requirement for additional fall prevention PPE.
The contractor is required to carry out the design, fabrication, galvanising and installation of the new access systems.
A mandatory site inspection will be held on site at Yarrawonga Weir at 9:00am Thursday 24 October 2019 as outlined in the document RFT 2148 - VPS Request for Tender.
The contract will be based on the terms of the Victorian Public Sector Minor Works Contract.
