Doug Jennings Park Stage 3

The Gold Coast Waterways Authority (GCWA) requires the services of a suitably qualified, experienced and resourced contractor to undertake the civil and ancillary works associated with the Doug Jennings Park Ongoing Rehabilitation Project, The Spit at Main Beach on the Gold Coast.
The successful contractor will be required to undertake all works associated with the construction to meet both the Principal’s project requirements and the requirements of the contract. The Works are to be delivered under an AS2124 General Conditions of Contract.
It is critical that the works are completed by Friday 1 December 2017. As such, the Contractor will be required to adequately resource the project so that this deadline is achieved.

The main elements of the works under this engagement will include:
• Realignment of the Ring Road which runs along the north west side of the park
• Construction of formalised parking bays along the road
• Formalising the unsealed carpark immediately north of the council parking area
• Construction of an access road for the Seaway Control Tower and southern wall
• Driveway and entry for the Seaway Control Tower
• Construction of a shared pathway to run the length of the seaway wall
• Installation of vehicle barriers and controls (bollards, speed humps etc)
• Installation of minor park infrastructure (bench seats and picnic tables)
• Provision of potable water reticulation, beach showers and drinking fountains
• Landscaping, revegetation, levelling and turfing of open spaces
• Intersection and round-about construction
• Signage
• Grading of road shoulders and swales
• Installation of security and maintenance gates to allow GCWA to manage the area
• Installation of additional garbage bin surrounds
