Description
The Midland Station (Cale Street) (MSCS) will have a new home bringing it closer to the heart of the Midland Town Centre. The new station location will improve connections to Midland Gate Shopping Centre and Midland Health Campus, while maintaining the railway?s central role to enhance work opportunities and community life in the area. The project supports Midland?s status as a Strategic Metropolitan Centre and strongly aligns with the program of urban renewal, being led by Development WA, to transform Midland into a contemporary urban centre. At the commencement of passenger services, the new Midland Station is expected to have 3,300 daily boardings, growing to 3,700 in 2031. The scope of the MSCS Project is to design and deliver a brand-new Station and replace the ageing station infrastructure with a modern facility that can meet future demand and will include: relocating Midland Station to the east of its existing location and demolition of the existing Midland Station building;new 12-stand bus interchange and multi-storey car park with more than 600 bays at the location of the former Midland Station;Cale Street level crossing by extending the existing Cale Street south to Yelverton Drive;closing Helena Street level crossing to create new public spaces and safe connections between the bus interchange and station;a 24/7 publicly accessible pedestrian overpass to connect the north and south sides of the rail corridor and provide access to all platforms during station operations;more than 1km shared path along the northern side of the rail corridor, connecting to the existing cycle network at Morrison Road and Lloyd Street; and1.7km of new dual track connecting into the new Bellevue Depot. The PTA seeks the services of a qualified and experienced Registered Engineer to undertake the role of Signalling Project Engineer (PE) in accordance with the PTA Engineering Management for Projects (EM4P) process for the new Midland Station (Cale St) Project (MSCS). The Signalling Project Engineer will be working under and reporting to the PTA Coordinating Project Engineer (CPE).
