Wodonga South Bandiana Sewer Pump Station Design and Construct

North East Water (NEW) is seeking to engage a suitably qualified Principal Contractor under a Design and Construct (D&C) contract for the construction the new South Bandiana Sewer Pumping Station (SPS), gravity sewer and rising main at located between the Kiewa Valley Hwy and Whytes Road, Bandiana (Wodonga). The South Bandiana SPS has been identified by NEW as a major growth servicing project and will relieve the existing Whytes Road SPS which is currently at capacity.

The contract is split into two (2) Separable Portions:
1. Gravity Main (MH12-MH17), SPS and Rising Main - Separable Portion 1
2. Gravity Main (MH1 - MH12) - Separable Portion 2

NOTE: The Award of Separable Portion 2 is dependent on North East Water securing external funding. If the funding is not secured at the time of Contract Award SP2 will not be awarded under this Contract.
The gravity main will be installed via trenchless methodologies under the Kiewa Valley highway and will convey sewage flows to the South Bandiana SPS from future connections. The rising main from the South Bandiana SPS will connect into an existing NEW rising main. Access for connection will be granted with no bypassing required.

The contractor will be responsible for all associated works, including but not limited to the following:
• Detailed Design of all components outlined below (preliminary design will be supplied by the Principal).
• Obtaining all necessary approvals and permits.

Gravity Main (MH12-MH17) - Separable Portion 1
• Gravity main (approx. 121m of DN600, approx. 5-7m depth).
• Gravity main (approx. 22m of DN700, approx. 5-7m depth).
• Associated Maintenance Hole Structures (approx. No 6).

South Bandiana SPS - Separable Portion 1
• Depth approx. 7.2m, Duty/Standy pumps.
• Wet well includes associated fittings/sensors, access and platform.
• Associated pits for valves and flow meters.
• Flow splitting and inlet maintenance hole structures.
• New mains supply from transformer (transformer by others) connection point (approx 50m).
• Switchboard
• General site works including vehicle access, parking, chain mesh security fencing.

Rising Main - Separable Portion 1
• Divert existing DN300 rising main to new SPS (approx. DN355 PN16 HDPE and 630m length).
• Rising main from new SPS to existing rising main (approx. DN355 PN16 HDPE and 610m length).
• Associated air valves, scour points, isolation valves and thrust blocks.
• Provisional Item – Installation of break pressure pit and DN450 gravity main
• Provisional Item – Installation of barometric loop at entry to Baranduda WWTP

Gravity Main (MH1-MH12) - Separable Portion 2
• Trenchless installation of Gravity main crossing Kiewa Valley Hwy (approx. 120m of DN375, approx. depth 4-6m).
• Gravity main (approx. 120m of DN375, approx. 4-5m depth).
• Gravity main (approx. 865m of DN525, approx. 5-7m depth).
• Associated Maintenance Hole Structures (approx. No 11).
• Provisional Item – Open-Trench Construction of MH-02 to MH-12.
• Provisional Item – Additional MH for Perpendicular Crossing of Kiewa-Valley Highway.
