MEMS Initiative 1 Mitigation of Diffuse Pollutants by Riparian Rehabilitation Actions - P24-7323

North Coast LLS have been engaged by DPI Fisheries to deliver management actions under the Marine Estate Management Strategy (MEMS), Initiative 1 - To improve water quality and reduce marine litter for the benefit of marine habitats, wildlife and the community. For FY25 North Coast LLS is required to primarily deliver ecological restoration works including: 1. Ecological maintenance of on-ground works at priority sites associated with previous years works , 18.79km, 36.71ha). 2. Undertake periodical milestone reporting and final report compilation to NCLLS. The outcomes of the ecological restoration component of this riparian zone project are to provide ecosystem services that include but are not limited to: 1. The functional ability to limit diffuse pollutants entering the riparian zone from surface run-off and over time provide increased instream carbon loads to promote natural denitrification processes. 2. Functional habitat for native biota including threatened entities (species and ecosystems). 3. Targets for riparian vegetation management which identifies objectives for riparian vegetation management component adopting three broad approaches: Assisted Regeneration, Reconstruction/ (+ combined approaches) and Rehabilitation
