Description
The Department requires the services of a suitably qualified and experienced service provider to provide expert advice in regard to design strategies and building compliance through the Davis Aerodrome Project (DAP) Planning Phase. The advice is intended to ensure that the necessary building codes, standards and other requirements for safety, health, amenity and sustainability are met in the ongoing planning and development of DAP building work.
The Service Provider will be required to:
- Provide independent advice to the AAD on matters such as fire engineering and asset protection assessment for polar buildings.
- Provide due diligence and other services through the design development process, to establish the compliance of DAP building strategies to the National Construction Code (NCC)/ Building Code of Australia (BCA), referenced Australian and International Standards and additional non-referenced standards as appropriate to the unique requirements of this project.
- Work with current design advisors and provide independent feedback to the Department on design strategies relating to compliance matters, to ensure the design concepts are operationally efficient and fit for purpose in the extreme polar environment, whilst achieving compliance obligations.
