Review of NSW specialised stroke services - NSWCTQ00000092

To promote equitable access to specialised stroke care NSW Health has established two specialised services:• the NSW Telestroke Service which links specialist stroke physicians to regional sites to support the provision of care via telehealth technology• the endovascular clot retrieval service which enables eligible stroke patients from across NSW to have a clot retrieval procedure at one of the referral centres, which includes five 24/7 centres and one centre with restricted hours.The aim of this project is to review the current provision of specialised stroke services across LHD boundaries in NSW to:• assess the current state of the specialised services for stroke• identify any issues impacting equitable access to specialised stroke services• identify opportunities for improvements in service provision, reporting and governance.
