The Tasmanian Irrigation Development Board (TIDB) has been set up by the Tasmanian Government to develop irrigation projects within the state. It has 12 specific projects to implement, at a total capital cost of approximately $320M. The Board is inviting contractors to register their interest in being pre-qualified to tender for dam construction projects. It is likely that the Headquarters Road Dam will be the only TIDB dam construction project of its type where the design has been done prior to invitations for tender for construction being issued. Only pre-qualified contractors will be invited to tender for projects.
