The lease of the rail lines by Australia Southern Railraod in the South East of the State has expired and the lines are in the process of being handed back to the South Australian Government. The Government is calling for Expressions of Interest from private rail operators to assess the interest in re-opening all or part of the rail network as a commercial operation.
