Description
WA Police has completed a technology and asset project that delivered 48 specially marked and equipped Advanced Traffic Management Vehicles (ATMVs) to support operational traffic enforcement activities. The vehicles were marked with high visibility decals; fitted with high volume sirens and new flashing emergency lighting systems; as well as technology within the vehicle that automatically ‘read’ the number plates of motor vehicles to the left, right and ahead of the car while it was moving. These registration numbers were automatically checked against corporate databases to provide relevant information to support traffic and law enforcement activities. This project is to provide a complete evaluation of the efficacy and value add of the ATMVs and to make recommendations on next steps. The final report will assist the customer in decision making regarding a future generation vehicle.
