Description

Contract No. 1979

DEW is implementing the South Australian Riverland Floodplains Integrated Infrastructure Program (SARFIIP).

The aim of the SARFIIP is to create an interconnected mosaic of manageable floodplains and wetlands between Lock 1 and the South Australian Borders with New South Wales and Victoria. SARFIIP aims to simulate high river flow floodplain flooding at low river flows by taking advantage of increased water levels through the raising of water levels at weirs along the River Murray. The increased flooding frequency enabled by these works is intended to enhance ecological health within major sections of the floodplain and wetlands.

The Environmental Pathways Project, a subproject of SARFIIP, has identified a suite of sites to improve connectivity between the River Murray and its floodplains. This specification is for the construction of two new water regulating structures at Qualco wetland.

A specification has been prepared outlining the requirements at Akuna, Molo Flat and Qualco sites.

This tender is for the delivery of requirements at Qualco site only.
