Description

The Australian Government (through the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science) (the Department) is currently siting and designing a National Radioactive Waste Management Facility (NRWMF), for low level waste (LLW) disposal and intermediate level waste (ILW) storage. In parallel, the Australian Common National Inventory of Radioactive Waste (CNIRW), waste acceptance criteria (WAC) and safety documentation have been developed to inform the design of the NRWMF.

The Department requires the Tenderer to:
- Peer review of existing design work in relation to conceptual, design development and detailed design of the NRWMF, as well as review of and contribution to the CNIRW, safety documentation and WAC.
- Other technical advice and assistance in relation to NRWMF policy and projects, including assisting the Department with preparation for reviews such as the ARTEMIS Review.
- Review and provide opinions on the NRWMF Detailed Business Case costings and assumptions, technical specifications for the NRWMF, and enabling works and core design elements.
- Advice in relation to community engagement and site selection processes for the NRWMF.
