Provision of Security Services for Nominated Schools in the Wheatbelt and North Metropolitan Regions

The Contract is for the provision of security services for the Department of Education sites in the Wheatbelt and North Metropolitan regions including, Northam, Chidlow, Gidgegannup, Meckering, Toodyay, Wooroloo, Wundowie and York.

Many of the Department of Education Schoolss and/or office sites are fitted with monitored intruder alarm systems in an effort to combat the rising rate of vandalism, break-ins and theft. To ensure the effectiveness of the systems, it is imperative that a quality security service is available to respond to the scene of an alarm to investigate and/or secure the site.

The services consist of alarm response, static guard and mobile patrols. Alarm response involves a guard being called to investigate the cause of the alarm activation. The guard can also be called to investigate suspicious activity reports to the Department's Security Section by a member of the public or a request for assistance froma a member of the school stagg. Static guards are utilised to maintain a security presence int the event that a school cannot be secured or to provide security for school staff. Mobile patrols are utilised as a minimal and used to provide a random security presence.

Reference to "Control Centre" within this Request means the office of the Department of Education where intruder alarm systems are monitored and security services are coordinated.
