North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation Limited
Port of Mackay Breakwater Upgrade Design
Details
Description
During 2010 North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation Limited (NQBP) commissioned services for the formulation of a maintenance strategy for the Mackay Small Craft Harbour Breakwater. Damage sustained by the breakwater during Cyclone Ului in March 2010 shifted the focus of the project to the entire breakwater structure. The preliminary design was completed towards the end of 2010, and NQBP now requires consultancy services for the detailed design and documentation phases of the breakwater upgrade.
This commission will involve the review of existing information and preliminary design proposals, detailed design of a preferred solution including physical testing, formulation of upgrade and maintenance strategies, construction documentation and drawings, and involvement in the construction tender process. Experience in marine and breakwater design work will form a major part of the selection criteria.
Documents will be available from Monday 21 March 2011
