Description

Jumna Creek is a former tin ore processing site, located 18km west of Herberton, that contained a processing plant in addition to a Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) with 5 cells. The site is classified as an abandoned mine and managed through the Abandoned Mine Lands Program (AMLP), which is administered by the Technical Services team within the Department of Resources (DoR).

This project is focused on remediation design planning for the Jumna TSF, with the final deliverable being remediation design and construction documentation that will be used to inform and support a funding submission to proceed with execution of the TSF remediation. This scope of works is intended to be delivered in three stages incorporating a landform options analysis phase, a targeted site investigation phase, and a detailed design and construction documentation phase. The final deliverables are to be completed by August 2023.
