Description

The South Australian Transport Subsidy Scheme (SATSS) is a State Government program which supports people who are prevented from using public transport because of severe and permanent physical mobility through the provision of subsidised travel in taxis. The government medical officer, who currently assesses applications for membership to the South Australian Transport Subsidy Scheme, is retiring. The Passenger Transport Board is seeking expressions of interest from health professionals, who are skilled in assessment of functional impairment, to assess applications received for the South Australian Transport Subsidy Scheme against established criteria. Approximately, 95 applications per week are presently processed for membership to the scheme. Assessment of applications is estimated to take approximately 14 hours per week to complete. The successful professional will be required to hold appropriate tertiary qualifications and current registration/membership with a health professional association or body. The successful professional will not be required to work directly with applicants but will assess written applications as they present. Some contact with other health professionals will be required. The Passenger Transport Board will enter into a contract with the successful health professional. Re-numeration is negotiable. Expressions of Interest for the SATSS assessment officer must detail the following;  Qualifications  Relevant experience in the area  Hourly rate or annual retainer required  Membership of professional bodies.
