Description

The Gambling Support Bureau (GSB) within the Division of Children and Families of the Department of Health and Human Services, is seeking proposals from individuals or organisations well qualified and experienced to: a) evaluate the existing services delivered to those affected by gambling; and b) make recommendations on future direct service delivery based on current and future needs of the Tasmanian community. The Bureau is responsible for the development of policy and purchasing models and the management of service delivery contracts with organizations providing support and counselling to any Tasmanian affected by gambling. Three (3) Tasmanian community-based organisations have been funded by the Community Support Levy to provide statewide professional individual and family counselling, financial counseling and programmed support groups. The 24 hr counselling and referral helpline is provided by a NSW company. These services are known as the Tasmanian Break Even Network of services. The evaluation and recommendations are expected to be complete by 31 July 2004.
