Description

The Department of Economic Development is inviting experienced consultants to submit a quotation under a contract for services basis for delivery and direction of the Antarctic Midwinter Festival. The Antarctic Midwinter Festival takes place in Hobart over 10 days.It provides a series of free and ticketed events to the public which seek to highlight, inform, educate and celebrate Tasmania’s unique connection with the Antarctic, sub-Antarctic and Southern Ocean. In 2007 the Festival will be held between 15 – 24 June. The successful consultant will be required to liaise closely with the General Manager of Antarctic Tasmania and will be responsible for delivery and direction of the Antarctic Midwinter Festival, specifically: program development; sourcing sponsorship and external funding; staging and managing nominated key events; and coordinating and assisting Event Managers to host their nominated events with venues, permits, event promotion, risk-management and volunteers.
