Wodonga Creek Flood Levee Construction

North East Water (NEW) is seeking to engage a suitably qualified Principal Contractor under a Design and Construct (D&C) contract to deliver the installation of a flood levee around the Wodonga Offtake raw water pumping station.
The offtake pumping station is located adjacent to Wodonga Creek and is at risk of engulfment if a large flood event is to occur in the future. NEW have completed flood modelling and concept design to determine the crest level and preferred layout of the levee around the site boundary. The flood levee shall be constructed of in-situ reinforced concrete wall with a shear key embedded into the soil and prevent water seepage under the wall and into the site during a flooding event.
The contractor will be responsible for all associated works, including but not limited to the following:
• Detailed Design of the flood levee, site drainage and other associated works.
• Installation of flood levee around site boundary.
• Relocation of existing services as required.
• Supply and install a purpose built flood gate provided at the entrance to the site. Flood gate to be installed in wing walls of levee and able to be installed/removed by operations team for flood events.
• Modifications to the existing site drainage within site boundary such that all overland flows are directed to a central stormwater collection pit.
• Addition of an internal deluge system at stormwater collection pit.
• Raise existing wet well to height of flood levy wall including modification to existing access telemetry, stairs and platform.
• Supply and installation of new security fencing on top of flood levy wall to NEW standards.
• Install access in the form of stairways and landings over flood levee.
• Install a new antenna mast on foundation of flood levee and relocated communications to antenna.
