SA Department for Infrastructure and Transport
21C647 - Strategic Freight Studies
Details
Description
The South Australian and Australian Governments have committed to addressing access constraints for High Productivity Vehicles on the interstate and intrastate freight network. This is consistent with the South Australian Government’s early‑stage proposal to Infrastructure Australia (IA) for inclusion in the Infrastructure Priority List (IPL), being the ‘South Australia High Productivity Vehicle network access’ initiative.
The 2021-2022 State and Australian Budget announcements allocated funding to undertake strategic studies that address the requirements of the IPL initiative. There are three studies as follows:
- Greater Adelaide Freight Bypass (GAFB)
- Murray Bridge to SE Links (MBSE)
- Eyre Highway Upgrade Planning Study (Port Augusta to WA border – EHUPS)
In addition, the following related studies are also required:
- Eyre Peninsula Area Plan
- Far North Area Plan
