WA Department of Finance
Radiation Oncology Treatment Planning System (TPS) Replacement
Details
Description
The WA Department of Health ('WA Health') supports the sole public Radiation Oncology service in Western Australia. The Department of Radiation Oncology ('the Department') based at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital uses five conventional linear accelerators (Linacs) to deliver radiation dose to more than 2200 cancer patients annually.
A core component of this service is a highly advanced Treatment Planning System (TPS) that uses data derived from each Linac to calculate a customised radiation therapy plan for each patient. The TPS is an essential equipment item that the Department requires for complete and proper patient treatment.
