Description
The Department of State Growth conducts biennial surveys on the sealed Tasmanian State Road Network to gather essential skid resistance data, crucial for planning and decision-making purposes.
The survey covers approximately 3,850 km in the prescribed direction and 1,900 km in the counter direction, encompassing various road categories, specific lane requirements, and includes State Roads on Bruny Island.
The contracted party must accurately reference the road network, follow a specific methodology utilising Sideways Force Measuring Equipment consistently, implement traffic control measures, and undertake data processing involving adjustments for temperature, load, and speed.
The survey data must be collected and reported at 5m and 100m intervals for each wheel path, meeting the outlined specifications.
