Description
The Department of Health and Human Services is working with government and non-government organisations supporting young children and their families in Burnie to improve outcomes for children under 5. This early years work is based on evidence that vulnerability is preventable, great long-term benefits are gained and there are high financial returns on investment. The Burnie Early Years Integrated Services consultancy will focus primarily on service improvement and better integration and referral pathways among services. This will involve a high level of collaboration among government and non-government service providers. It will encourage best practice and linkage between services by: using case studies to identify need; mapping core services; improving referral pathways among services; improving service participation by vulnerable families, and developing strategies for professional development, communication and sustainability of networks after project funding ceases in June 2006. A consultant is required to undertake these and related tasks over a period of 8 months.
